Ann Kuykendall "Kirkie" Parker

Ann Kuykendall “Kirkie” Parker of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Born October 10, 1935 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Emmadean Kuydendall. She pledged Chi Omega while attending the University of Arkansas, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in 1957. She received her Masters of Arts and Education in 1980 and completed other post graduate work from Tennessee State University. She was a dedicated educator for over 40 years, but her love was teaching Adult Education. She lived in Nashville for over 40 years, but after retiring she moved to Memphis, to be with her family. She is survived by her son, Rob Parker (Lesley) of Memphis, and her daughter Carolyn Parker Akin (Doug) of Indiana. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Zoey Parker who she loved more than life itself. There will be a celebration of her life, in Nashville in a couple of months, with family and friends. Any donations in her memory can be made to Fort Smith Boys and Girls Club or the Chi Omega Foundation.
