Deborah Kay Wilson

November 28, 1951 - November 16, 2017

Deborah Kay Wilson passed away peacefully on November 16, 2017 after an unexpected battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on Sunday, November 28, 1951 in Fort Smith AR, Debby was the youngest child of Harry Wood Jones & Grace Lea Thomas Jones. She grew up in Hartford AR and graduated from Hartford High School in 1969. She continued her education at the Arkansas Tech University in Russellville AR, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in English and later went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University. Debby loved her time as a stay at home mom to Scott and Bryce and the family made moves to Oklahoma City, OK; El Dorado, AR; Clinton, MS; and Plantation FL. For the past 20 years, Debby lived in Hernando, MS and worked as a Mental Health Counselor in Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee. Debby loved animals and rescued numerous cats & dogs. Debby had a great sense of humor and could make you laugh until your sides split! She enjoyed gardening, needlework, photography, and was an avid reader. Debby supported her family and friends and her animals in kind compassionate ways that have left indelible marks on our hearts and in our world. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by sons Bryce Gregg Wilson of Tulsa, OK, and Thomas Scott Wilson and wife Barbara Kopeloff of Cortlandt Manor NY; grandson Emmett Kopeloff Wilson; sisters Becky Jones Benson and husband Joe of Memphis, TN, Billi Sue Jones Scroggins of Natchitoches, LA; nieces Terri Benson Norwood (Tim), Amy Benson Young (Justin), Marly Wilson; nephew Chance Scroggins; and her cats Smudge, Millie & Evan.
