Fletcher L. Gardner
November 11, 1953 - July 31, 2020
Fletcher L. Gardner was born November, 11th 1953 in Baldwyn, MS. He was the son of Fletcher Gardner and Jessie McVay. He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Dudley) Gardner of Memphis and sons Greg Gardner (wife Brandy) of Southaven, MS and Tim Dudley (wife Alan) of Spanish Fort, AL. He also leaves behind his sisters Laura Thomas of Myrtle, MS and Mary Linda Winkley of Nevada, MO. His different careers as a Logistics Director took him all over the US including cities in Florida, California, Mississippi, Virginia, and even worked in Hershey, Pennsylvania. His heart was stolen by his five Grandchildren, Ava and Garrett of Memphis along with Charlie, Jess, and Juliet of Spanish Fort and decided he was through with traveling, retired and never left Memphis for work again. He was an avid Ole Miss fan and he truly loved and supported all of college football and all the bowl games especially the St. Jude Liberty Bowl. A memorial service will be held in the future when all his friends and family can be in attendance. To celebrate Fletcher’s life, the family ask for donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Alzheimer’s Association or the University of Mississippi Foundation in lieu of flowers. As a poet once summarized it so well, “Your presence we will miss, your memories we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never” Rest in peace, “PAPA”
