Gray Dominic Lewis Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gray Dominic Lewis, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2021 after a short battle with adenocarcinoma cancer. He was born in Memphis Tennessee on February 10th 1954 to Melvin Eugene Lewis and Sally Lewis. His family were long time members of St. James Catholic Church on Leroy Ave. and Gray D. also attended elementary school at St. James Catholic School. He graduated from Kingsbury High School where he was quite popular in the band, “Village Chapter”, managed by his Dad, Gene Lewis. His lifelong gift and passion was always music. He was a part of the Memphis music scene from the late sixties to present time. Gray D. was well respected by his fellow musicians as well as making lifelong friends wherever he went. Following in his fathers footsteps he was well known in the auto body repair business. He retired from Phillips Auto Body in 2019 leaving behind a very devoted clientele. He leaves behind a daughter, Erica Marie Nathan and a son, Christopher Eugene Davila and five beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin Eugene Lewis and Sally Lewis; his younger sister Jeni Marie Lewis and his oldest son Nicholas Brian Davila. Friends and family will meet for A Celebration of Life on Monday March 1st at 12:00 noon at St. James Catholic Church at 4180 Leroy Ave. Memphis, Tn.
