February 14, 1964 - September 13, 2017
No more trachs! No more walking difficulties! No more feeding tubes! No more pain! Lynette transitioned from life on earth to eternal life on September 13, 2017. She is now in Heaven with her Lord Jesus! “Well done, good and faithful servant!” was her welcome. Lynette Murley Szeto entered life on earth on February 14, 1964 through the port of Memphis, as the daughter of Robert Dennis Murley and (the late) Peggy Doris Murley. Until a ruptured brain aneurysm left her disabled nine years ago, Lynette loved sports and was full of life. In fact, she was a living miracle because only 1% of victims ever survive such a traumatic injury. After almost a full year of recovery, through hard work and perseverance, she was able to be restored to an almost normal life with only minimal disabilities. Lynette loved her Vols football, online games, baby goats, and Facebook. Most importantly, she loved people. She was always an encourager with her regular witty and uplifting Facebook posts. She is survived by her husband, Ken Szeto; her daughter, Jessica Cohen and husband Bennie Cohen; her son Zachary VanNieuwenhyze; her father, Dennis Murley; her sister, Denise Perkins and husband Marshall Perkins; her stepdaughter, Jennifer Youngblood and husband Ryan Youngblood; her stepdaughter, Amanda Phillips and husband Mike Phillips; and her granddaughter, Payton Phillips, whom Lolly lovingly called her SweetP. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A joyful Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Eldad Baptist Church, 49 Eldad Road, Trenton, TN, with the Reverend Al Canon officiating. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that charitable donations be made in memory of Lynette Szeto, in honor of her husband who is battling pancreatic cancer, to: Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Network (PanCan.org).
