Rachel Podgorski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Rachel ‘Rae’ Massaro Podgorski, age 95, born April 17, 1927, in Paterson, NJ, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2022. She was a loving and faithful wife to her husband Walter Francis Podgorski for 62 years prior to his death in 2012. Together they raised 5 sons and had lived in Germantown since 1972. She was an active member at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, serving faithfully on various committees. Rae and Walter were very active members of the local Polish American Society and The Merry Makers at OLPH. Rae is survived by her 5 sons and daughters-in-laws: Dr. Steven (Dr. Donna Bratton) Podgorski of Littleton, Colorado; Dr. Gary (Beidy) Podgorski of Columbia, Tennessee; Kenneth (Becky) Podgorski of Knoxville, Tennessee; Wayne (Darnelle) Podgorski of Cordova, Tennessee; and Mark Alan (Angie) Podgorski of Knoxville, Tennessee. She also leaves 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A special thank you goes to the dedicated staff at The Village at Germantown for their thoughtful care of Rae. Rae leaves a legacy of loving kindness. She loved her family well, cared for others, gave generously of her time to serve the community, and most importantly she loved her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Family and friends will gather for an interment at a later date in The Garden of Saints at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Merry Makers, 8151 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, TN, 38138.
