William Bryan Truitt

William Bryan Truitt, lifelong musician, died at age 72 on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, after a brief hospitalization. Bryan, known to his childhood friends and family as “Bill”, was born August 3, 1949, to John William Truitt and Dorothy Powell Truitt in New Albany, Mississippi. He graduated from White Station High School in Memphis in 1967 and attended Memphis State University. Bryan and Sandra Bice were married in 1978. They most currently resided in Oakland TN. His love of music began at age 6 and was his focus for the next 66 years. Bryan also worked for BPI, Building Plastics, Inc., headquartered in Memphis, Tn, from which he retired. Bryan is survived by his wife, Sandra, his sister, Patricia Truitt Zellner of Hot Springs Village, AR, his sister Judy Truitt Gray of Florence, KY, nephew Doug Zellner of Williston, TN, niece Amanda Zellner Wakham of Hot Springs Village, AR, sister-in-law Sharon Bice Sparkman of Oakland, TN and her husband Don Sparkman, niece Jennifer Bice of Cordova, TN and nephew Zachary Bice of Lakeland, TN. He also leaves adoring cousins, an aunt, grand nieces and nephews, and a great grand niece. Bryan and his fellow band members were prominent members of the music scene across the United States during the 70’s up until a few months prior to his death.
